10 August 2023¡Viva! Streets and ¡Viva! RTD: Spreading the word about Zero Fare
¡Viva! Streets Denver is a community-focused street festival that was held on four Sundays in May through August. Approximately 3.5 miles of Broadway in Denver were closed to vehicular traffic, allowing bikers and walkers to use the roads safely. The RTD Community Engagement Team attended the final installment of this year’s event on Sunday, Aug. 6.

RTD is prepared to support the thousands of Denver Broncos fans who will attend home games this season at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium. The stadium’s close proximity to a number of bus stops and rail stations makes RTD a safe and ideal way for football fans to travel to and from games.

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) announced the launch of the Zero Fare for Youth program at an event alongside local leaders. The initiative, a key recommendation resulting from the agency’s most recent fare study and equity analysis, was approved last month by the RTD Board of Directors. The one-year pilot program will allow youth ages 19 and younger to ride all RTD services at no cost from Sept. 1 through Aug. 31, 2024.

RTD will perform necessary repairs to the parking garage at the Sheridan Station Park-n-Ride at 10th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard beginning Tuesday, Aug. 8 and lasting approximately one month. While repairs are underway, there will be no access to the garage from Sheridan Boulevard.
