
RTD provides service and connections to Broncos’ preseason home opener on Friday
Customers encouraged to use bus and rail services to access Empower Field at Mile High
DENVER (Aug. 17, 2026) –– The Regional Transportation District (RTD) expects an increase in ridership during the Broncos’ preseason home opener on Friday, Aug. 21, at Empower Field at Mile High. The stadium’s close proximity to several bus stops and rail stations makes public transit a safe and convenient way for football fans to attend the game.
Broncos fans are encouraged to use the agency’s Next Ride trip planning tool and simply type “Broncos” in the destination field. RTD’s trip planner will show all transit options from a customer’s current location to Empower Field. The “Broncos” navigation feature will list train lines and bus routes, along with future departure times from the user’s current location.
Rail Service
Before and after the game, RTD will offer regularly scheduled service on the C, E, and W lines, which serve Empower Field at Mile High Station, as well as A, B, G, and N lines, which provide service to Denver Union Station.The agency plans to add rail cars to the C, E, W, and N lines to accommodate expected increased ridership.
Check the RTD website or NextRideapp for service times. Customers are encouraged to be patient and prepare for large crowds, especially following the game.
Bus Service
Several local bus routes are available to accommodate customers attending the football game. Bus routes operating in the vicinity of Empower Field at Mile High include Route 30 (South Federal Boulevard) and Route 31 (North Federal Boulevard), as well as Routes 1, 15L, 16, and 31.
Customers looking for an easy transfer to the C, E, or W lines at Denver Union Station can use the Flatiron Flyer and local Routes 0, 9, 10, 15, 20, and 32.
Parking
RTD’s Park-n-Rides provide easy and convenient access to reach the game by public transit. A full list of Park-n-Rides across the metro area is available online.
