RTD honors veterans and military service members for Veterans Day

Julia Dambekaln

RTD proudly observes Veterans Day and extends gratitude and appreciation to all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Their courage, commitment and dedication to service reflect the same values that drive RTD’s mission of making lives better through connections and providing reliable and accessible transit for all.

Across the agency, veterans contribute their expertise and leadership in roles ranging from bus operations and maintenance to customer care and law enforcement. The qualities developed through military service, including discipline, teamwork, and integrity are vital to RTD’s workforce and service to the public.

RTD offers employment opportunities for military veterans, helping them transition their skills from active service to public service. The agency’s Transit Police Department (RTD-PD) welcomes veterans to its ranks, recognizing the strong connection between military experience and community safety. A recent push by the RTD-PD to hire more veterans highlights the agency’s recognition of the skills and qualities those who served in the military bring and RTD’s ongoing commitment to employing those who have served.

This Veterans Day, RTD encourages everyone to thank a veteran for their service and recognize their lasting impact on our communities.
