The Regional Transportation District (RTD)has deployed a new feature on its Next Ride application that will providecustomerswith an indication of how occupied a bus may be at any given time.

To use the new feature, customersshould visit Next Ride (app.rtd-denver.com), choose the “Commute” button on the home screen, select a bus from the list and view the “How busy is this bus” interface. The Bus Occupancy statuses will display four “people” icons that are filled-in solid or transparent. The more solid people icons the fuller the bus. The statuses used include:

  • Quiet
  • Mildly Full
  • Moderately Full
  • Very Full
  • Crowded

RTD Next Ride is available in English, Spanish and Chinese, with Vietnamese and Russian currently in beta testing.
