Sunshine is live! Once enrolled with Sunshine text BOOK to 970-777-7777 to book your first ride. Phone based ordering available at 303-299-1388 to book a ride or to speak with Sunshine.
Sunshine offers Access-on-Demand customers curb-to-curb transportation in standard and wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAV). See below for everything you need to know about how to Ride with Sunshine.
Getting Started
Before Your First Ride
Enroll with Sunshine Rides
To use Sunshine Rides for Access-on-Demand trips, you must:
- Have a current RTD Access-a-Ride certification
- Submit the Access-on-Demand Enrollment Form and select Sunshine Rides as a provider. Allow 3 business days for processing.
- Set up your Sunshine Rides account
- Your name must match your RTD enrollment records
Set Up Your Sunshine Account
- Download the Sunshine Rides app and add your information
- Or call 970-777-7777. A team member can walk you through the process by phone if needed.
Booking A Ride
Starting July 1, 2026, customers enrolled with Sunshine may book in the following ways:
Phone
- Call 303-244-1388 (Not available 1:30am - 3:30am)
- Provide your name, pickup address, destination and any accessibility or mobility device needs.
- Let the representative know if you need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV)
- Confirm you pick up time, vehicle details and estimated fare before hanging up.

App
Booking by app:
- Open the Sunshine Rides app and enter your pickup location
- Enter your destination
- Select your vehicle type- standard or wheelchair-accessible (WAV- Only for eligible customers)-- and add any mobility device or service animal information.
- Review your trip details. Your RTD subsidy will apply automatically.
- Trip price, post-subsidy, will show.
- Tap to request- Sunshine will confirm your booking within 5 minutes.
You will receive a confirmation with your driver's name, vehicle information, and estimated arrival time.
*Note: For Access-on-Demand to be available as a payment method in the Sunshine Rides app, you must verify your email by following the link sent to your inbox. See the Rider App Guide for more detailed instruction.

Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAV)
To use a WAV, you must be eligible through Access-a-Ride to do so. Call 303-299-2960 to discuss updates to your eligibility and mobility devices.
When requesting a ride, select the WAV option in the app or mention it when you call. Sunshine WAV vehicles are equipped with rear-entry ramps, four-point securement, and ADA-compliant restraint systems.
Pricing
Pricing
You will pay for your ride using an in-vehicle payment system at the end of your ride. Your RTD subsidy will be applied automatically. You are responsible for your fare and any amount above the subsidy.
RTD Fare:
- Standard: $4.50 before subsidy applied
- LiVE: $2.25 before subsidy applies
- Under 19: No fare
- Subsidy: RTD subsidy: $20 per trip, applied after your fared
- Monthly limit: 60 trips across all Access-on-Demand providers (customers track their own total)
Sunshine Rides Pricing
- $6 base rate
- $4 per mile
- Waiting Time: $2 per minute
- $2 per extra passenger
Tips
Tips are optional and not covered by the RTD subsidy.
Paying with Cash
For riders without a bank account, you can use cash app, venmo, chime or pay pal to load cash on the digital card of your choice. For more information contact Sunshine Rides at 970-777-7777.
Rules
Please wear your seatbelt throughout your trip. Eating, drinking, smoking, and vaping are not permitted in Sunshine vehicles.
Good to Know
Preparing for Pickup
After your ride is confirmed, Sunshine will send your driver's name, vehicle details and arrival time.
- Be ready at your confirmed curbside pickup location
- Match the license plate in your confirmation to the vehicle Have your RTD Access-a-Ride ID card available.
- Bring any mobility device, service animal, or personal care Your driver will confirm your drop-off address at pickup.
