The following service changes take effect Sunday, August 31. These changes are designed to support seasonal ridership trends, account for continued progress on the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project, and align with RTD’s System Optimization Plan while enhancing the overall customer experience.
Customer feedback is essential to shaping RTD’s service changes. D
18th•California – Littleton•Mineral

D Line trains will reroute to serve Union Station by way of 10th•Osage, Auraria West, Empower Field at Mile High, and Ball Arena•Elitch Gardens, with schedules being adapted to accommodate the rerouting.

This routing allows for D Line customers to travel to/from Downtown Denver while subsequent phases of the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project take place.

Out of 99 respondents, 50% reported a positive impact from the change, 2% indicated it had no impact, and 47% perceived the change negatively.

Union Station – RidgeGate Parkway

Subsequent phases of the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project will not allow for RTD to operate trains at Colfax at Auraria through the Downtown Loop. With the D Line rerouting to serve Union Station, there is not track capacity to reroute the H Line to Union Station. H Line customers can transfer to/from E Line at Southmoor for service to/from Union Station.

It also responds to resident requests to remove through-trips from Gay Street, which had been used temporarily after the terminal shifted to Bross Street/8th Avenue. The rerouting would remain in place until the new 1st Avenue and Main Street Station opens in 2027.
