Rad Things To Do

Rad Things (to) Do - June 2026

Austin Nettleton

In a normal year, June marks the official start of summer, grilling, and enjoying the outdoors. However, in the Big ’26, summer has been here since, well, last summer, just with a few flakes in between. That means Denverites are already in peak mid-season form when it comes to getting outside, and with the sheer number of festivals and outdoor concerts taking place this month, there’s no excuse to not have a good time. As Kevin Malone from The Office once said, “Why waste time say lot word when few word do trick,” so let’s dive into June’s Rad Things (to) Do!

THE PRIMER

It’s no secret that Denver knows how to put on huge events, and June’s event calendar is proof of that.

The most notable events happening this month are the ever-popular Denver Pride, one of the country’s largest celebrations of LGBTQIA+ culture and activism, and the Juneteenth Music Festival.

This year, Denver Pride takes over 16th Street between Broadway and Arapahoe, lined with concerts, performances, activism, and education. The biggest celebration of all things queer in the Rockies just got even bigger. Of course, it wouldn’t be Denver Pride without the famous Vizzy Denver Pride Parade, taking place along 17th Street June 28, and the Denver Pride 5K, taking place June 27.

Of course, it wouldn’t be June without the Juneteenth Music Festival and parade returning to the heart of the Five Points neighborhood. On June 20, thousands will pack the neighborhood to honor the day when the last of the nation’s enslaved people learned of their freedom. Enjoy a full day of free concerts, education, art, food, and culture celebrating freedom and community, headlined by two-time Grammy-nominated R&B icon, SiR. Be sure to arrive early to enjoy the Juneteenth parade!

At Empower Field at Mile High Stadium, Red Bull brings the chaos with the Red Bull Soapbox Race. Enjoy a day of absolute insanity as brave pilots take to their handmade creations and send it down a winding course with no brakes and no regard for their personal safety.

Over in sportsball land, the slate is oddly quiet this month, thanks to the Colorado Avalanche deciding that the NHL’s Western Conference Finals were the perfect time to follow their dreams of becoming dust particles so that they could feel what it was like to be swept by the Vegas Golden Knights. With the Avs and the Denver Nuggets having a heck of a time together in Cancun right now, the only other option to enjoy sports in downtown Denver this month lies at Denver’s best sports bar Coors Field. While the Colorado Rockies are still the worst team in the MLB, at least they’re not as bad as they were at this point last year, with only nine wins and 47 losses. June won’t offer much relief, though, with five homestands against the Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red Sox, and Miami Marlins. At least, RTD is here to help fans get home after sitting through four hours of watching multimillionaires attempting to play baseball.

For those who would rather see massive men with muscles in places muscles shouldn’t be, beat the (scripted) ever-loving snot out of each other in a wrestling ring, Total Nonstop Action (TNA) iMPACT comes to the National Western Center for two nights of high-octane takedowns, turnstile leaps, spears, and, well, TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION!

Rounding out the major sporting events this month is the inspiring 2026 Transplant Games. This special event features transplant recipients who showcase their athletic prowess to honor the donors whose organs saved their lives. Over the course of six days, athletes will compete in sports such as tennis, cornhole, pickleball, ballroom dancing, 5K run/walk, swimming, and basketball, all to celebrate organ donors and encourage others to consider becoming donors themselves.

June also brings a lineup of major concerts. Notable concerts include Kid Cudi, Ringo Starr, Dance Gavin Dance, Five For Fighting, Lord Huron, Flatland Calvary, and the Colorado Symphony performing the soundtrack of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, all headlined by R&B icons Chris Brown and Usher at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium, as well as the kings of Millennial indie folk, Mumford & Sons, taking over Folsom Field in Boulder (and inspiring a generation of burger joints with mediocre $30 burgers where fries are extra).

Get ready to kick the summer off in overdrive and check out all the Rad Things (to) Do in the metro area in June!
