
RTD detours routes for Denver Pride 5K at Cheesman Park and PrideFest event on 16th Street
DENVER (June25, 2026) –– To accommodate the 2026 Denver Pride 5K, theRegional Transportation District (RTD)will implement temporary detours and boarding location changes on several bus routes Saturday, June 27. RTD will also temporarily detour the 16th Street FreeRide to 15th and 17th streets during Denver PrideFest on Sunday, June 28.
On Saturday, June 27, the Denver Pride 5K is scheduled to take place 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Cheesman Park. Cheesman Park will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event. RTD customers can access Routes 10 and 12 west of Corona Street or east of York Street.Customers should expect delays, detours, and temporary stop closures in the downtown and Capitol Hill areas.
Impacts to bus routes on Saturday include:
- Routes 8, 19, 32, 48, ART, and 16th Street FreeRide (16th Street FreeRide shuttle will detour to 15th and 17th streets between Lawrence Street and Broadway)
Denver PrideFest, Sunday, June 28:Historically held in Civic Center Park, Denver PrideFest moves this year to a portion of 16th Street from Lawrence Street to Broadway.
The Denver PrideFest event will begin at 10 a.m. on 16th Street from Broadway to Lawrence Street. Road closures will be in place from 7 a.m. Saturday, June 27 to approximately 11 p.m. Sunday June 28. During the festival, the 16th Street FreeRide will detour to 15th and 17th streets between Lawrence Street and Broadway. The FreeRide shuttles will operate on a regular schedule between Union Station and Lawrence Street.
2026 Vizzy Denver Pride Parade, Sunday, June 28: The Vizzy Denver Pride Parade will take place beginning at 9:30 a.m. The parade will step off at Franklin Street and 17th Avenue, and travel down 17th Avenue, ending at Lincoln Street. Customers should expect delays, detours, and temporary stop closures in the downtown and Capitol Hill areas.

- Routes 0, 1, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 15L, 16, 19, 20, 48, and 52
- 83L (Civic Center is closed. Board the eastbound 83L on Broadway at 13th Avenue)
- 16th Street FreeRide (16th Street FreeRide shuttle will detour to 15th and 17th streets between Lawrence Street and Broadway. Board the FreeRide at 15th Street and Tremont Place
