AHEC and RTD team up for the Fall semester passes, updates on bus and rail services

The Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) and the Regional Transportation District (RTD) are partnering to keep AHEC students informed about the upcoming service changes in September. RTD is completing the first phase of a multi-phased project to reconstruct light rail track in downtown Denver that affects the Auraria campus.

Students and faculty may visit the RTD Auraria campus webpage featuring information about RTD services changes, transit options for the Auraria campus, links to sign up for service alerts, download RTD service apps and learn more about the Fall semester pass. To support Auraria customers, RTD’s Impact Team will be available at the Auraria West Station on Monday, Aug. 19, 9-11 a.m. to provide in-person assistance and answer questions.

The Fall 2024 RTD Semester Pass can be purchased for $250 from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, 2024, and is valid until Dec. 31, 2024. The pass provides students with a campus ID access to all trains, buses, including trips to and from the airport. For information on eligibility and how to acquire a pass, please check the Auraria Higher Education Center.

RTD appreciates customers’ patience during the temporary impact to light rail services. Customers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow for extra time to reach their destinations. To assist customers, RTD provides the following resources and support options:

  • Service Alerts – text, email, and online notices that provide real-time information on delays, detours, disruptions, cancellations and the resumption of service
  • Impact Team – RTD is dispatching employee ambassadors to various rail stations and bus stops to assist customers with trip planning and to provide information about disruptions and maintenance
  • Customer Care – customers are encouraged to call Customer Care at 303.299.6000 for help planning trips, making connections or navigating service disruptions
  • Next Ride App – customers can use RTD’s Next Ride app to plan trips and learn about disruptions
  • Social Media – RTD’s digital team is available via social media to provide customized help and assistance
  • Transit Watch app – customers can be RTD’s partners in safety by downloading and using the Transit Watch app, available in English and Spanish, to report suspicious or illicit activity discretely or anonymously 24/7. The app is available in Apple and Android versions.
