RTD August service changes include adjustments for upcoming Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project and expansion of Downtown Boulder Station
Starting Aug. 31, D and H lines will undergo route adjustments and select bus routes will be adjusted in Denver and Boulder
DENVER (Aug. 4, 2025) –– Beginning Sunday, Aug. 31, the Regional Transportation District (RTD)’s latest service changes will take effect. RTD is making changes to enhance reliability and connectivity of services, improve on-time performance and account for the next phase of the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project. RTD’s service changes aim to enhance the overall transit experience by improving reliability and on-time performance of bus and rail services. Overall, for 2025, RTD has increased the level of service with more buses and trains running, longer hours of operation and more frequent service compared to 2024.
RTD continually monitors its transit system and adjusts its schedule three times a year – typically in January, May, and either August or September – to respond to a variety of factors. RTD evaluates traffic patterns, ridership trends, operational resources and customer feedback that affect its bus and rail system. Some of the changes are made to support on-time performance, adjust to evolving travel needs, account for seasonal changes and allow for scheduled maintenance projects to be performed efficiently.
RTD encourages customers to use the Next Ride app to plan for any travel adjustments from bus routes and rail lines affected by the service changes.
Customers are encouraged to visit Service Changes for a complete look at the updates RTD is making. An overview of some changes is provided below.
