RTD will provide bus shuttle service July 10-11 between Englewood and I-25-Broadway stations during overnight pedestrian bridge installation
Customers should check schedules and allow extra travel time
DENVER (July 7, 2026) –– The Regional Transportation District (RTD)will provide bus shuttle service in place of C Line trains between Englewood and I-25-Broadway Stations from 10 p.m. Saturday, July 11, through 6 a.m. Sunday, July 12. During this time, City of Denver crews will install a new pedestrian bridge over Santa Fe Drive/US 85, the adjacent freight rail corridor, and RTD light rail tracks near West Jewell Avenue, north of Evans Station.
The new bridge will create safer, more direct access to RTD’s Evans Station for people walking and biking. RTD is committed to improving the customer journey through continued infrastructure investments that sustain and improve the agency’s world-class transit system.
"Through the Building a Better RTD strategic initiative, we are investing in partnerships that improve safety, access, and the customer experience. This new pedestrian bridge is a practical example of that work, helping people walking and biking reach Evans Station more easily and strengthening connections between surrounding neighborhoods and our transit system. We appreciate customers’ patience during the overnight work and encourage everyone to plan ahead," said RTD Deputy CEO Angel Peña.
To safely complete the bridge installation, overhead power to the light rail system must be shut down. As a result, C Line rail service will be suspended between the affected stations. Shuttle buses will operate in place of trains but will not follow regular schedules. Customers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
Regular C Line service will continue to operate:
- between I-25-Broadway Station and Union Station
- between Englewood Station and Littleton-Mineral Station
Some early-morning E Line trips will be canceled. Updated schedules and service alerts will be available in RTD’s NextRide web app.
Shuttle boarding locations are as follows:
- Englewood Station: Gate A
- Evans Station: Gate C
- I-25-Broadway Station: Gate A3
Rail service will resume once bridge installation work is complete. Customers can visit RTD’s Service Disruptions webpage and use the NextRide app to plan their trip, explore alternate routes, and sign up for Service Alerts.
What to expect when bus shuttles replace rail service
RTD schedules bus shuttles to provide service to customers during planned rail maintenance, unplanned service disruptions, or elevator outages. Bus shuttles provide service at or between affected rail stations. This video briefly explains what to expect if your station requires a bus shuttle.
RTD appreciates customers’ patience as the agency works to make lives better through connections.
