Board Office

RTD is governed by a 15-member, publicly elected Board of Directors. Directors are elected to a four-year term and represent a specific district. Elections are staggered so that eight seats are open in one general election, seven in the next.

Committees

Audit CommitteeConsistent with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing published by the Institute of Internal Auditors (Standards), the Board will appoint a separate, independent Audit Committee that will establish and oversee the internal audit function consistent with the Standards. Citizens Advisory CommitteeThe Citizens Advisory Committee represents the citizen perspective on behalf of a wide range of stakeholder interests, businesses, and community organizations. Executive CommitteeThe Executive Committee will review and establish the agenda for each regular meeting of the Board, and address public affairs, external relations, legislation, and ministerial matters affecting the Board.Finance and Planning CommitteeThe Finance and Planning Committee is responsible for agency financial matter, including but not limited to budget and monthly financial statement review, determination of the fiscal impact of all Board actions, asset management, and long-range planning and capital project. Independent Accountability CommitteeLearn more about the Independent Accountability committeeOperations and Safety CommitteeThe Operations and Safety Committee is responsible for all operational matters, including all contracted and non-contracted bus, rail, paratransit, and microtransit services, as well as safety and security matters.Performance CommitteeThe Performance Committee is responsible for the performance management of the General Manager and CEO and the GM/CEO’s contract and annual comprehensive performance evaluation, as well as monitoring metrics as to agency’s performance related to the Strategic Plan success outcomes.
