Access-a-Ride Fares

Payment of fare is expected prior to boarding an Access-a-Ride vehicle. Customers may not pay at the destination. Access-a-Ride fares can be paid in cash or tickets, or through the mobile tickets app.

  • When using cash, EXACT CHANGE must be used, as Access-a-Ride operators do not carry change.
  • Ticket booklets are available online, at an RTD Sales Outlet, or participating King Soopers and Safeway stores.

Tickets may be used in combination with cash, but no change will be provided. All ticket sales are final, and tickets are non-refundable.

LiVE is a separate program from Access-a-Ride, and each requires a separate application.

Fixed Route Fares

Customers presenting an Access-a-Ride ID do not pay a fare when using fixed route services.

*Access-a-Ride LiVE Fare is available for customers enrolled in LiVE, RTD’s income-based fare discount program. Customers over 19 years old with a household income of 250% of the Federal Poverty Level or below can apply. Click here to learn more about the program and complete an application.

All who enroll in LiVE will receive a LiVE identification card; customers should keep this card on them when paying cash or using RTD Access-a-Ride LiVE tickets. AaR Customers with LiVE status may confirm when making reservations that the LiVE fare has been applied, or verify the expected fare when using the customer portal.

Exception: Guests traveling with a LiVE customer will pay full fare unless they present a LiVE ID card to the driver. Guests that present a LiVE card to the driver will pay the LiVE fare.
