Transit Police

The RTD Transit Police Department operates a comprehensive public safety model dedicated to providing a safe and secure transit system for our customers, employees, and the communities we serve. The department is led by the Chief of Police and includes one Deputy Chief, three Commanders, 13 Sergeants, four Detectives, and a team of Transit Police Corporals and Officers.

The department is further supported by 24/7 911 dispatch operations, a Video Investigation Unit, an Integrated Security Technologies team responsible for security systems infrastructure and technology integration, and more than 600 contracted police and uniformed security officers. Transit Police jurisdiction encompasses 2,349 square miles across eight counties and 40 cities throughout the Denver Metro region.
